How to Ship Heavy Machinery From USA to UK
If you have heavy machinery such as construction vehicles to ship from the USA to the UK, let Ship Overseas coordinate the logistics for you. In order to provide you with a free quote, first we’ll need the Year/Make/Model, Pickup Zip Code or Departure Port, and Destination Country, in this case, UK.
For an extra charge, we can make it easier for your equipment to fit inside the containers by professionally dismantling it first. This may help you save on import duty fees. When shipping disassembled machinery as opposed to fully assembled machinery, this is cheaper because it is considered to be shipping parts.

Our shipping vessels depart weekly from all seven U.S. seaports listed above to the sole port in UK. The only shipping method we offer at this time for heavy machinery shipments to the UK is the RoRo method.

RoRo Shipping (Roll On/Roll Off)
This cost effective, popular and efficient shipping method is ideal for construction vehicles, boats, motorcycles, motorhomes, campers, trailers, and buses. You will enjoy the reliability in departure and arrival dates, as well. The inside of the ship looks similar to the ramps inside a parking garage.
Do You Need Marine Insurance?
It is our recommendation that you purchase some form of Marine Insurance, as without it, you will be responsible for paying out of pocket for any damages. While rare, it can happen with rough seas. For example, you can choose to cover your machinery for 50% or 75% of the equipment’s value rather than 100% if you wish.
We offer 1.75% of the value of the machinery for FULL coverage, theft, vandalism, total loss, damage with $500 deductible. Coverage begins when your machinery is loaded onto the ship until the time it is collected and signed for at the arrival port. Total Loss for 1.25% charge for the value of the machinery.
