How to Ship Heavy Machinery From USA to Panama
If you are interested in shipping heavy machinery to Panama from the USA, Ship Overseas is happy to expertly coordinate the logistics for you. In order to start you off with a free quote, we will need the Year/Make/Model, Pickup Zip Code or Departure Port, and Destination Country, in this case, Panama.
To help you save on import duty fees and at an extra fee, we can professionally dismantle your machinery first. This makes it easier for your equipment to fit inside the containers. Shipping disassembled machinery is often cheaper because it is considered a shipment of parts rather than a fully assembled machine.
Our team frequently helps construction companies, manufacturers, and private agencies ship their heavy machinery to Panama from the USA.

Shipping Method for Shipping Heavy Machinery to Panama
Our shipping vessels depart every week from the four U.S. seaports mentioned above to the one port in Panama. At this time, we only offer the RoRo method for heavy machinery shipments to Panama. Container shipping is not available.
RoRo Shipping (Roll On/Roll Off)
As the name implies, the equipment you are shipping must roll onto and off of the ship. This is why this type of ship, similar to a parking garage inside, is ideal for transporting construction vehicles, boats, motorcycles, motor homes, campers, trailers, and buses overseas. It features set departure and arrival dates (sort of like an airport) so you can rely on this method in terms of timing.
Do You Need Marine Insurance?
We think so, but this is entirely up to you. You will have to pay out of pocket for any damage that happens if you don’t purchase it. That said, you could also choose to cover your machinery for 50% or 75% of the equipment’s value rather than the full 100%.
We offer 1.75% of the value of the machinery for FULL coverage, theft, vandalism, total loss, damage with $500 deductible. Coverage begins when your machinery is loaded onto the ship until the time it is signed for at the arrival port. Total Loss for 1.25% charge for the value of the machinery.
