1. We Offer Door-to-Port and Port-to-Port Services
In terms of getting your boat prepped for transport, we make the process simple. Our truck drivers will pick up your boat from your door and ship it to a variety of countries in Latin America, Europe, Africa and the Middle East. You also have the option of taking your boat to the departure shipping port yourself and we’ll ship it to the destination port (port-to-port).
2. Costs Vary
It’s difficult to price out a boat shipment due to the sheer variety of sizes and types of boats. Small sailboats cost less to ship than large yachts, obviously, but there are many other factors at play, such as how the boat is transported to the port (we come get it or you bring it yourself), and where the boat is being shipped from (West Coast USA vs. East Coast).
For example, to ship a boat to UK, it takes 25-30 days from the East Coast, and 40-50 days from the West Coast.
3. We Offer RoRo Shipping
RoRo shipsare built for shipping wheeled cargo. Your boat is driven onto the ship and then will be strapped and secured to prevent movement during transport. A metal protector under the boat locks into place so no shifting occurs. This method is efficient and cost-effective, with reliable departure and arrival dates, sort of like an airport.
We handle all U.S. Customs clearance and will let you know exactly which documents you will need to ship your boat overseas, whether you’re shipping a sailboat to UK or a yacht to Qatar. In most cases, you will need the bill of sale in order to ship a boat of any kind. You will be assigned a Customs Broker and their name will be listed on the Doc Receipt. Your broker will be able to tell you which fees you need to pay and what they are, such as the destination handling charge.
5. We Offer Marine Insurance
We offer full cover marine insurance against loss or damage to your boat.
Coverage starts at the point the boat is loaded onto the ship until signed for when your designated person collects it. 1.75% of the value of the vessel for FULL coverage, theft, vandalism, total loss, damage with $500 deductible. Total Loss for 1.25% charge for the value of the boat.

I used Ship Overseas back in 2019 to ship my 2008 Harley Softtail from Galveston Texas to Belgium. I forget exactly how long it took, perhaps in the two month range. However, the bike did eventually arrive and was completely ready for me at pickup. They even handled all the import paperwork etc. My only complaint would be that somehow the bike had accumulated almost 100 extra miles on it from when I dropped in off, and picking it up. Perhaps they needed to run it around the boat a few 1000 times. Also, there were a couple of parts missing from my saddle bags. Lesson: NEVER leave anything that can't be bolted to the object you are shipping. Otherwise, great service and a very good shipping experience.
ShipOverseas was a great partner in shipping a Chevy Bolt EV to Helsinki Finland. The representatives provided easily understood descriptions of the roll on-roll off process, required paperwork, payments, etc. We drove the car onto the Galveston, TX dock with an accompanying guide. It was 100% smoothly accomplished. The car was transferred in Germany without problems (it is an electric vehicle with some unique starting characteristics) and offloaded near Helsinki, Finland. Hello Tere! Last summer I sent my car to Estonia. I was scared little bit because it was my first time ( maybe even last!) to do this kind of thing. But it went very smoothly - unexpectedly . Most difficult thing was driving myself to the port, but I did it! I could order somebody from Ship Overseas, but it cost money. And paperwork was pretty normal. The same day, I left to the airport, I got phone call that they sent car title to my old address. Wow! I thought that this title goes directly to the Estonian port, but I was wrong. They sent this very important paper over to my son.It arrived on time when I was ready to show car documents to the toll office. Everything ended very well ! Thanks to Ship Overseas.
