But for your own information, there are a few things that will dictate your price. Did you know…
- It’s cheaper to ship a car than it is to ship an SUV or truck?
- It’s cheaper to ship a car to the East Coast USA from Italy rather than the West Coast USA?
- It’s cheaper to drive the car to the port rather than hire our truck driver to do it? Sometimes it’s not possible, though, to bring the car to the port yourself when you think about paying gas, lodging, or taking time off work. The same goes on the other end when receiving the shipment in the U.S.
How Long Does it Take?

Our shipping vessels depart on a weekly basis from the ports of Civitavechhia, Livorno, Monfalcone, Naples, Palermo, Salerno, and Savona in Italy to any U.S. seaport you choose. You will be responsible for getting the vehicle to the port in Italy for shipping to the USA.
Shipping Method for Shipping a Car to Italy
We only offer RoRo shipping (not container shipping) from Italy to the U.S., with shipping vessels departing on a weekly basis from Italy for transport into the United States.
RoRo Shipping (Roll On/Roll Off)
With RoRo shipping, all cars are tied to the deck with no exposure to the ocean water and air. If your car can make it up the ramp and onto the ship on its own, RoRo shipping is the most cost effective and popular method. Its efficiency and reliability are similar to that of an airport, with set departure and arrival dates. RoRo can be used to transport wheeled vehicles such as motorcycles, cars, motorhomes, campers, trailers, buses, construction vehicles and boats.
Do You Need Marine Insurance?
We recommend it but don’t require it. You would get 1.75% of the value of the vehicle for FULL coverage of theft, vandalism, damage and total loss with a $500 deductible. Coverage kicks in when your car is loaded onto the ship in Italy and expires when the car is collected and signed for at the arrival port in the USA. Total Loss is 1.25% charge for the value of the vehicle.
Don’t have the money for 100% coverage? Purchase partial coverage of 50% to 75%, but just know that it’s your responsibility to pay out of pocket for any damage exceeding the covered amount.

Should I purchase Marine Insurance?
This is something we strongly recommend. You never know when rough seas can shift things during transport and damage or loss can occur. Fortunately, this is a rare occurrence. Usually, it’s a concern during hurricane season which runs from June to November when the seas are rougher than normal. You want to be covered for any necessary repairs, damage, or loss, and you don’t want to have to pay for those out of pocket.
We offer FULL COVERAGE Marine Insurance against Loss or Damage from the time your car is loaded onto the ship. The cost is 1.75% of the value you wish to insure the car for.
