I used Ship Overseas back in 2019 to ship my 2008 Harley Softtail from Galveston Texas to Belgium. I forget exactly how long it took, perhaps in the two month range. However, the bike did eventually arrive and was completely ready for me at pickup. They even handled all the import paperwork etc. My only complaint would be that somehow the bike had accumulated almost 100 extra miles on it from when I dropped in off, and picking it up. Perhaps they needed to run it around the boat a few 1000 times. Also, there were a couple of parts missing from my saddle bags. Lesson: NEVER leave anything that can't be bolted to the object you are shipping. Otherwise, great service and a very good shipping experience.

Hello Tere! Last summer I sent my car to Estonia. I was scared little bit because it was my first time ( maybe even last!) to do this kind of thing. But it went very smoothly - unexpectedly . Most difficult thing was driving myself to the port, but I did it! I could order somebody from Ship Overseas, but it cost money. And paperwork was pretty normal. The same day, I left to the airport, I got phone call that they sent car title to my old address. Wow! I thought that this title goes directly to the Estonian port, but I was wrong. They sent this very important paper over to my son.It arrived on time when I was ready to show car documents to the toll office. Everything ended very well ! Thanks to Ship Overseas. Please note that the Estimated Time in Transit encompasses the duration from when your car arrives at the shipping terminal, and it does not include the time needed for the trucker to collect your vehicle from your residence.

Consider getting optional marine insurance to protect your car in case of damage or loss. It’s a rare occurrence, but it can happen, especially during hurricane season from June 1 to November 30. Our Marine Insurance covers your vehicle from when it’s loaded onto the ship until it arrives at the destination port. The cost is 1.75% of your car’s value. Documents Required to Ship Car to Panama
When shipping a car from the USA to Panama, make sure to have the Original Title and the Consignee’s ID (the person who will be picking up the car).
Shipping Methods
We exclusively provide RoRo shipping to Panama, and it is accessible from the following USA ports: Newark, NJ; Baltimore, MD; Houston, TX; and Jacksonville, FL.
RoRo (Roll On Roll Off)
RoRo, short for “roll on, roll off,” is a shipping method suitable for any vehicle with wheels that can be driven on and off the ship under its own power. These ships resemble vast parking garages and can accommodate various vehicles, including cars, motorcycles, motorhomes, campers, trailers, buses, construction vehicles, and boats. RoRo shipping is commonly used when transporting a single vehicle, but it’s crucial that the vehicle can ascend and descend the ship’s ramp without assistance. Once your vehicle is loaded onto the RoRo vessel, it will be securely fastened in its assigned location.
New car manufacturers often prefer RoRo shipping because it offers additional protection against external elements. All vehicles are firmly secured to the deck and shielded from exposure to the open ocean.
This method is highly efficient and cost-effective, providing reliable departure and arrival schedules similar to airline flight timetables.
You are accountable for payment when your vehicle reaches the departure shipping port.
Wire Transfer or Cashier’s Check
If you are located outside the USA, this is the most typical payment method. We will furnish our bank details after you’ve confirmed your order.
Credit Card & Zelle
Using Zelle for payment is fee-free, so you won’t incur any additional charges. However, if you opt to pay with a credit card, a 3% service fee will be applied.
Canceling Your Order
In the unlikely event that you need to cancel your order, please send us an email promptly. The refund will be processed through the same payment method you selected, minus a $300 cancellation fee.
Additional Information
For safety and weight reasons, your vehicle should not have more than a ¼ tank of gas.
The destination handling charge is approximately $300.
You must provide a clear Title of Ownership with no Liens on the Title.
If the vehicle has been sold, both the Seller and Buyer have to sign the back of the Title in the designated spaces.
If you bought the car new, your name must be listed as the registered owner on the front of the Title.
USA Customs Clearance
Ship Overseas, Inc. will handle the process of clearing US Customs on your behalf. While some US Customs agents may inspect the contents of your trunk, typically, they will only conduct a visual inspection through the car’s windows.
Who Can Pick Up The Vehicle in Panama
You can select any individual you prefer. Please inform us in advance of the sailing date so that we can designate them as the Receiver or Consignee. They will be required to provide a photo ID, present the Title of Ownership, and submit a letter of authorization to take possession of the vehicle. If you make any changes after your cargo has been loaded on the vessel, a fee will be incurred.
