Departure and Arrival Ports
The departure ports from the USA to Spain include:
- Newark, NJ
- Baltimore, MD
- Newport News, VA
- Charleston, SC
- Jacksonville, FL
- Brunswick, GA
- Galveston, TX
- Long Beach, CA
There are three arrival ports in Spain: Barcelona, Sagunto and Vigo.
- Barcelona is the capital and largest city of Catalonia, Spain, and the second most populous municipality in the whole country. It’s also Catalonia’s largest port, along with Tarragona.
- The Port of Sagunto is a small port in Spain, located in Sagunto on the Eastern coast. Nestled in the province of Valencia, it is situated close to the Costa del Azahar on the Mediterranean Sea.
- Vigo is the most populous municipality in Galicia, Spain, located on the northwest coast. This is the country’s busiest fishing port, home to the world’s largest fishing company, Pescanova.
These ports are where your designated person will pick up and pay for the boat in cash (in person) for Tax or Duty.

How Much Does it Cost to Ship a Boat to Spain?
We encourage you to contact us for specific prices on shipping your boat to Spain. A few factors will determine your final price. For example, you will pay less if:
- You plan to ship a small boat vs. a large yacht.
- You plan to ship out of the East Coast vs. the West Coast.
- You live close to the departure post and can get your boat there yourself. You will pay more if you pay our truck drivers to transport your boat from your home to the port.

Shipping Method for Shipping a Boat to Spain
Our shipping vessels depart on a weekly basis from all eight U.S. seaports listed above to the three ports in Spain. In general, we offer the RoRo shipping method to Spain for boats, with shared container shipping from Newark, NJ and Long Beach, CA.
RoRo Shipping (Roll On/Roll Off)
Meant for boats, motorcycles, motorhomes, campers, trailers, buses, and construction vehicles, this is our most popular, cost-effective and efficient shipping method. Featuring reliable departure and arrival dates, all boats are tied to the deck with no exposure to the ocean.
Container Shipping
Another option for two of the ports is to use a shipping container to ship your boat to Spain. Choose from shared and exclusive container shipping.
Do You Need Marine Insurance?
Not required but recommended!
1.75% of the value of the vehicle for FULL coverage, theft, vandalism, total loss, damage with $500 deductible. Total Loss for 1.25% charge for the value of the boat. Coverage starts at the point the boat is loaded onto the ship until the point it is signed for when collecting.
If you decide that Marine Insurance is too expensive, you don’t have to cover 100% of the boat’s value. Simply cover the boat for 50% or $75% of the value. Remember: if you don’t purchase any insurance, then you have to pay out of pocket for damages.
