Ship a Boat to Netherlands
Shipping a Boat From USA to The Netherlands
Shipping a boat from the USA to the Netherlands starts with a free quote from us here at Ship Overseas. We will need the Year/Make/Model of your boat, Pickup Zip Code or Departure Port, and Destination Country, in this case, The Netherlands. Ship Overseas offers weekly sailings from two ports in the USA to one port in The Netherlands.
Don’t fret about the process. We make it easy to ship a boat to the Netherlands based on our 40 years of experience!
All boats must be on a trailer!
Departure and Arrival Ports
The departure ports from the USA to The Netherlands include:
- Newark, NJ
- Long Beach, CA
There is only one arrival port in The Netherlands and that is Rotterdam, Europe’s largest seaport and the world’s largest besides East Asia. It’s located near the city of Rotterdam and in the province of South Holland.

How Much Does it Cost to Ship a Boat to The Netherlands?
For specific prices on shipping a boat to the Netherlands, it’s best to simply contact Ship Overseas. Overall, though, your price tag can be determined by:
- The size of the boat. It costs more to ship a large yacht vs. a small boat.
- Where you ship out of. It costs more to ship from the West Coast than the East Coast.
- Whether you plan to transport your boat to the port on your own. It costs more for our truck drivers to come get it from your home and bring it to the port. But when you factor in the gas, time off work, lodging and other costs you would incur to bring your own boat to the port, sometimes it’s just more convenient and affordable for our drivers to do it.

Good communication at all times. Thank you very much.

An exceptional service. The downside is that car transport was unreliable. Granted through no fault of foreign ship.

Shipping Method for Shipping a Boat to The Netherlands
Our shipping vessels depart on a weekly basis from both U.S. seaports listed above to Rotterdam in The Netherlands. For boats, we offer the RoRo shipping method to the Netherlands.

RoRo Shipping (Roll-On/Roll-Off)
This is commonly used for transporting wheeled vehicles such as boats, motorcycles, motorhomes, campers, trailers, buses, and construction vehicles. Because it’s our most popular, cost-effective, and efficient shipping method, you can count on set departure and arrival dates, similar to that of an airline. All boats are secured to the deck with no exposure to the ocean and elements.
Do You Need Marine Insurance?
While not required, we do recommend you purchase it.
We offer 1.75% of the value of the boat for FULL coverage, theft, vandalism, total loss, damage with $500 deductible. Coverage starts at time when the boat is loaded onto the ship until the time it is signed for when it is collected. Total Loss for 1.25% charge for the value of the boat.
If you feel that Marine Insurance is not within your budget, you don’t have to cover 100% of the boat’s value. You can actually cover the boat for 50% or $75% of the value. Just keep in mind that if you decide not to purchase insurance, you will be responsible for paying out of pocket for any damages.
