Offering weekly sailings from ports in the USA to Belgium

Our shipping vessels depart on a weekly basis from U.S. seaports to two cities in Belgium: Antwerp and Zeebrugge.

There are many options you can choose from when shipping a car from the U.S. to Belgium. Our top two overseas shipping methods are:

RoRo Shipping – RoRo ships are vessels built for shipping wheeled cargo, where cars are driven onto the ship as if it were a floating parking garage.

Container Shipping – Your car is shipped on a container with other cars; or, you can select an exclusive container where yours is the only one.

But more on these later! Keep reading!

Ship Your Car to Antwerp

Antwerp is the capital of Antwerp province in Flanders, Belgium. Located on the River Scheldt, Belgium connects to the North Sea by the river’s Westerschelde estuary, providing convenient access to the country, just 25 miles north of Brussels and nine miles south of the Dutch border. The Port of Antwerp is one of the biggest in the world, ranking second in Europe and within the top 20 globally.

Ship Your Car to Zeebrugge

Zeebrugge, a village on the coast of Belgium and a subdivision of Bruges, is a modern port that serves as both the international port of Bruges-Zeebrugge and a seafront resort with hotels, cafés, a marina and a beach. Situated on the North Sea coast, its central location, short distance to Great Britain and close vicinity to industrialized cities all make Zeebrugge a convenient point of entry to the country.

Two Types of Shipping Methods

If this is your first time shipping a car to Belgium, you may feel apprehensive about which shipping method to choose. There are clear benefits to both and we will explore each with you, answering any questions you may have.

RoRo Shipping (Roll On/Roll Off)

This is the first and most popular option. It’s affordable and convenient, and best for wheeled vehicles such as motorcycles and cars. That’s because RoRo stands for Roll On and Roll Off, which means the vehicles are driven onto the ship of their own power. Automobiles and motorcycles are the most common vehicles, but other types of vehicles can be shipped via this method as well, such as motorhomes, campers, trailers, buses, construction vehicles, and boats.

You would use RoRo shipping when shipping a single vehicle to Belgium. Keep in mind, your car must be able to make it up and down the ramp without any assistance. Think of it this way: a RoRo ship resembles a big parking garage inside. Once loaded onto the vessel, each vehicle is tied down securely in its designated spot.

This shipping method is highly efficient and cost-effective, not to mention it features reliable departure and arrival dates as opposed to container shipping which isn’t as predictable.

RoRo shipping is also the preferred shipping method for new car manufacturers looking to ship their own vehicles. All vehicles are tied to the deck with no exposure to the ocean, which offers protection against external elements.

Container Shipping

The next option is to use a shipping container to ship your car to Belgium. Under this category, there are two options: shared and exclusive container shipping. Don’t worry, we’re here to ease your mind and give you the low-down on each.

Shared Container Shipping

Your car will be loaded along with three other vehicles into a container at a warehouse, as each container fits about four vehicles. The drawback to this option is that the container must be filled with vehicles in order for it to be loaded onto the container ship, which means there are no fixed departure dates like the RoRo method. Translation: you could be waiting an extra week until the container is filled with the rest of the cars. Therefore, it’s wise to pick this method when shipping two or more vehicles.

If you would like to ship additional items in the trunk or the backseat of your vehicle, you may do so. This is a big benefit of shared container shipping over RoRo. Another benefit is that you can ship vehicles that do not work. For example, many people who buy broken-down classic cars in the USA choose shared container shipping.

Exclusive Container Shipping

You would choose exclusive container shipping if you plan to ship exotic vehicles like Bentleys, Ferraris, Aston Martins, etc. because of the added protection and attention to detail. You would also choose this option if you want to ship personal belongings along with your car. Exclusive container shipping is more expensive than RoRo and Shared Container shipping, but you get more peace of mind knowing your car is the only one in the container.

Like shared container shipping, you can ship vehicles that do not work.

Great question. There are two ways. You can bring it to us or we can come get it from you. Let’s go over each option.

Open and Enclosed Auto Shipping

We can transport your vehicle to the port if you are unable to drive your car to the port yourself. We offer open and enclosed auto shipping to pick up the car from your location and deliver it to the port for shipping to Belgium.

Open Auto Shipping – This is the most common type of car shipping method and is also the least expensive. This safe and cost effective method is great for shipping vehicles like sedans and minivans.

Our transport trucks normally carry as many as nine to 10 cars at a time and as few as five cars. The transport truck driver will load and unload vehicles while shipping cars across country. Because we can fill these transport trucks to full capacity, it lowers the overall shipping costs when running routes across the U.S.

Enclosed Auto Shipping – This is an ideal method for shipping luxury, exotic, specialty, or vintage cars to Belgium. You will pay more but the risk factor is greatly reduced, as your vehicle will not be exposed to the elements. If you have a higher budget than most, you will want to choose this option. Your car will be shipped along with two other vehicles, placed onto the truck via a special ramp or lift-gate.

Protecting your investment is important. Marine insurance can provide that peace of mind. That’s why we highly recommend you purchase the optional marine insurance. We offer FULL COVERAGE Marine Insurance against Loss or Damage from the time your car is loaded onto the ship. The cost is 1.75% of the value you wish to insure the car for.

You’ll definitely want to buy Marine Insurance if you can’t afford to pay out of pocket for any unfortunate repairs, damage or loss. Keep in mind, this is rare. The only time this would pose a real issue is during hurricane season, which lasts from June till November. Learn more about Marine Insurance by clicking on the link below.
