For more than 25 years, we have been shipping motorcycles of all kinds, including Harley Davidsons, to Costa Rica. Our company strives to provide you with streamlined services to ensure the safe shipping of your motorcycle. We will send you the appropriate documents and take care of all the export compliance procedures for you, including US Customs clearance, so you don’t have to worry about these details. And if you are not located close to any of our departure shipping ports in the US, we will offer to pick up the vehicle and take it there ourselves. This optional service prevents you from having to miss days off work and spending unnecessary money on gas, hotels, and food. We have a couple of different shipping methods for you to choose from: RoRo or Container, which we outline below. You or the person listed on the Bill of Lading can pick up the motorcycle once it arrives at port in Costa Rica. We will always send you the lowest price by default, so you can rest assured you’re getting the best price. Your motorcycle can be shipped using one of two shipping methods: 1) RoRo (Roll on Roll off) or 2) Container.
1) Motorcycle RoRo (Roll on Roll off) Shipping
Use RoRo shipping if only one motorcycle is involved. But, in order to use this shipping method, your motorcycle must be able to “Roll On and Roll Off’ (RoRo) the ship on its own, without mechanical assistance. Once loaded on the ship, we strap it down and brace it, with tires placed into a metal protector, as you’ll see to the right where we’re shipping Harleys to Costa Rica. We also put adequate space between motorcycles as an extra protective measure.
While many people choose to ship a motorcycle to Costa Rica, others instead need to ship golf carts, mopeds, trikes, dirt bikes, ATVs, and other off-road vehicles. Using the RoRo shipping method is an excellent way to ship one motorcycle to Costa Rica, but if you’re looking to ship several motorcycles, choose the container shipping method instead for this purpose.
2) Motorcycle Container Shipping
The preferred method for dealerships sending motorcycles to Costa Rica, container shipping offers a bulk cost savings to customers who are shipping many cycles at once due to the fact that they can all safely fit into a single container. By dropping the price per square foot, we can make shipping cheaper for you. Many times, a bunch of customers shipping their motorcycles to the same country can benefit from low pricing as we group their motorcycles together to save on shipping costs. When you ship a motorcycle to Costa Rica via container, you can rest assured it’s equally as safe as the RoRo method. In terms of price quotes, we automatically give you our lowest price first, whether it is via RoRo or Container.
Marine Insurance for RoRo or Container Shipping
When shipping a motorcycle to Costa Rica, customers often choose to purchase marine insurance, which is super inexpensive but worth the tiny investment. The cost of coverage depends on the stated value of the motorcycle, and will protect your motorcycle from loss or damage while at sea or during transport.

There are other methods of shipping motorcycles to Costa Rica, but we recommend to only use RoRo, Container, or Air Freight shipping. ONLY use a well known, licensed and bonded company that often ships motorcycles from USA to Costa Rica. Do not use a company who has limited experience. You don’t want to run into customs problems using them.
There are many motorcycle shipping companies like our friends at AA Motorcycles that only ship within the USA. Visit them if you don’t plan on shipping a bike overseas.
