    RoRo Car Shipping to Netherlands

Use the RoRo (Roll on Roll off) car shipping method if only one car needs to be shipped. This is a very common method when shipping a car to Netherlands. You have 10 departure ports in USA to ship cars from. When shipping via RoRo, we do not permit anything inside the car except for the spare tire and the jack. This is because the car must clear customs. In addition, the car must not exceed 1/4 tank of gas. If it has more than 1/4 tank of gas, it will be drained so safety purposes.

The car has to be in good working condition since it must be able to make it up and down the ramp of the RoRo ship. Once the car is aboard the ship, it will be blocked and braced to the deck of the ship. This will prevent it from moving around while crossing the ocean.

This method is by far the least expensive way to ship cars to Rotterdam. There are no cons of using RoRo shipping.

    Container Car Shipping to Netherlands

Use the container car shipping method if you need to ship additional items inside your car. Most likely you'll be using a shared container if you are only shipping one car with personal items in the trunk. An itemized list of goods, along with their values, must be presented for US Customs. Another situation to use containers is when you are shipping 2 or more vehicles. Sometimes people ship exotic cars like Lamborghini and they get a FULL container (sometimes called exclusive) instead of a shared container.

Like RoRo shipping, one great thing about shipping a car to Netherlands via container ship is you have many departure shipping ports to choose from in the United States. If you are not near one, just let us know and we’ll arrange one of our car transporters to pick up your car. Using a container ship is great if you need to ship more than just your car.

The only drawback to using containers to ship a car is when it's shared. The shipping line will not send a container to Rotterdam if it's not full. Sometimes you'll need to wait a week for other cars to be loaded. Other than a time delay, there are no other drawbacks.
