We ship motorhomes, campers, conversion buses, and trailers internationally

When exporting an RV or Bus, the RoRo method is the only option due to the size of the vehicle. As an international car shipping company based in the USA, shipping to another country is a breeze for us. We have been shipping cars overseas for over 34 years! When you choose us as your international RV shipper, you will get your RV in the same condition as when you handed it over to us. You can take the RV to the departure shipping port yourself, and we will ship it to the destination port (port-to-port). We ship:

  • Motorhomes
  • Truck Campers
  • Toy Haulers
  • Bus Conversions
  • Travel Trailers
  • Truck Campers
  • Light Weights
  • Popup Campers

Whether you are shipping a motorhome, camper or trailer, your vehicle will be handled safely.

We handle all US Customs clearance. Our staff will walk you through the whole RV shipping process.

Remember, once you get your pricing in the email, you can place your order and pay later. You don’t have to pay right away.

Our shipping vessels depart on a weekly basis from U.S. seaports, and we offer several vehicle shipping methods and additional services, to meet all your overseas RV shipping needs:

RoRo Shipping

RoRo ships are vessels built for shipping wheeled cargo, more specifically – shipping motor cars and motorhomes. The vehicles are driven on to the ship almost like it was a parking garage. The name Roll-on/Roll-off comes from the fact that vehicles roll-on/roll-off the ramp, which is how they are driven on and off the ship.

Once loaded on the RoRo vessel, each vehicle is tied down securely in its designated spot (as shown in the picture).

This shipping method has proved highly efficient and extremely cost-effective. When compared to container shipping, it has an additional advantage: it provides reliable departure and arrival dates. The ship’s departure and arrival schedule runs almost like an airline flight schedule.

Also, RoRo shipping is the preferred shipping method for new car manufacturers to ship their own vehicles. In addition to the exact departure and arrival dates, RoRo shipping means that all vehicles are tied down below deck. That way, the vehicles have all the protection against external elements.

Marine Insurance

Ship Overseas recommends that all shipments be insured for transit cargo insurance (marine insurance) on a first dollar basis for losses incurring in transit.

We offer FULL COVER Marine Insurance against Loss or Damage from the time your vehicle is loaded onto the Vessel for shipment at a rate of 1.5% of the value you wish to Insure for.

Important info to Ship a Car Overseas:
  • No car can leave USA if it has a lien on it. What does this mean? Your car must be paid in full. The only people who can ship a car overseas and still carry a lien on the car are US Military and Government employees/contractors. For those people a letter of authorization from the lender will need to be issued to pass US Customs. Otherwise the car may be considered stolen.
  • A clear Title of Ownership with no Liens on the Title.
  • If you bought a car new, then your name must be listed on the front of the Title as the registered owner.
  • If the vehicle has been sold, then both the Seller and Buyer have to sign the back of the Title in the spaces as detailed on the back of the Title.
  • For safety reasons, the vehicle cannot have more than a ¼ tank of gas.
Travel & Living Abroad:
  • Most countries will allow a traveler to temporarily import their car for up to 6 months. After the 6 months is up, import duty will be charged. For many travelers going to Europe and taking their car, a deposit is paid up front. When the car goes back to it’s destination country, the deposit is refunded. If a person has lived in USA for 1 or more years, most countries will allow that person to bring their car back duty free! The car must not have any liens on it. Please check with your Customs Department first.
Import Duty for Destination Country:
  • Import duty is NOT collected by Ship Overseas. It must be paid at the arrival port by whoever is picking up the car. We wrote a blog post about vehicle import duty here. It talks about how to find out import duty for your country.
