Shipping Car to Ghana

We have been shipping cars to Ghana for over 18 years. For us, shipping a car to Ghana from USA is a routine process. For you to receive a quote from us, all we need is the year, make and model of the car. In most cases, your quote is sent to you almost immediately after we receive your request. There are various ports in the USA that we use to your car to Ghana. Shipping a car to Ghana can be shipped on a container or a Roll on Roll off vessel. Roll on Roll off is far more popular to Ghana because it is much cheaper and the arrival time is usually quicker. Ghana has a car age restriction. It must be 10 years or younger. If you are not close to one of the departure ports, we will include a trucking price in your quote for us to transport your car to the port. You will have the option to drive or arrange your own delivery of your car if you wish.

If your quote includes the optional trucking service to the departure port, we will need to pick up your car and take it to the port for you. To do this, we will need to arrange one of our transport truckers to meet with you (or the designated person) at the place you want the car picked up from. This makes it relatively more affordable for customers to purchase their vehicles in most states throughout USA and have them trucked at reasonable prices to the port. Roll on Roll off (RoRo) Car Shipping

The picture on the left is of a RoRo ship. All our RoRo ships require that the vehicle is able to drive up and down the ramp. There is not lifting of the vehicle as in container shipping (below). This means the car must be able to function properly. RoRo shipping is very easy for many Ghanians because the cars arrive in near Lagos.

Once the car is aboard the ship, it will be strapped to the deck of the ship to keep it from shifting around while sailing across the ocean. Absolutely nothing is permitted to be inside the vehicle. Many people buy cars over the internet and ship them to Ghana. Other people have a family member ship their old vehicle to Ghana for them. The RoRo ship will arrive in the Tema shipping port as shown below on Google Maps. Go ahead and zoom in to see where it will arrive. RoRo car shipping is by far the least expensive way to ship a car from USA to Ghana.

Container Car Shipments

You can ship you car to Ghana in an exclusive or shared container. With an exclusive container, your cars are the only ones packed in the container. In a shared container shipment, you share the container with other cars that are being shipped from the same port to Ghana.

Container shipments are not available from all of the USA ports.

Container shipments are available whereby you may load personal goods in the car that you are shipping. This is always almost more expensive than Roll on Roll off shipping.  If you pack personal goods in your car, then you will need to submit a packing list of the goods. The packing list must itemize the goods by category and must include values. As with Roll on Roll of shipments, we will need a clear Title of Ownership with no liens on the Title.

Use RoRo shipping if you are shipping one or two cars. Use container shipping if you are sending additional items besides your car.
